KHAYAMIYA AT THE ALBURY LIBRARY MUSEUM (UNTIL MID APRIL): An exhibition of a rare and spectacular art form rarely seen outside of Egypt, Khayamiya, a form of Egyptian tentmaker applique, helps preserve the memory of this art form before it disappears.

YACK STATION, YACKANDANDAH

YACKANDANDAH ARTISTS ON SHOW (OPEN TUESDAYS TO SUNDAYS):Yack Station was created toprovide a practical space for artists to work and a destination for visitors to watch art being made andpurchase the original pieces. The tranquil location is the site of the old Yackandandah Railway Stationwhich is no longer operational as a railway station. Future plans include a railway museum to becomean integral part of Yack Station paying homage to the town鈥檚 cultural history. The end result will beartist work spaces and art gallery, a market style area for visitors to watch talented artists create theirpieces and an educational, cultural experience at the Railway Museum. BENALLA ART GALLERY

TRADITIONALISTS OF AUSTRALIAN LANDSCAPE PAINTING (UNTIL FEBRUARY 15):An exhibition oflandscapes from the school of Australian Impressionism. The images of Australia鈥檚 landscape havetouched the imaginations of artists for centuries. It was a key source of inspiration to artists of thenineteenth and 20th century and they produced a large volume of work depicting people, places andlandscapes using 鈥榠mpressionist鈥?techniques with quick, broad strokes to capture the light and colourthey saw as they painted. The paintings and watercolours in this exhibition are drawn from the AlecCato Collection, Wesley College, Melbourne and the Benalla Art Gallery Collection. Australian paintersinclude Arthur Streeton, Frederick McCubbin, Tom Roberts, Hans Heysen , Penleigh Boyd and others asthey travelled to all to all four corners of Australia. The works on display have rarely been exhibited. Floor talks by Kenneth Park, Curator of Collections at Wesley College are scheduled to take placeduring the exhibition.

COROWA ARTS SPACE

COROWA COLLECTION (OPEN DAILY):The Corowa Collection showcases the prize winners in allsections of the annual Federation Art Show that have been acquired by the Federation Art ShowCommittee and held in trust by Corowa Council for the past 14 years. This is the first time that theseart works have been displayed together as a collection and for many of these works it is the first timethey have been on public display. The gallery is open 11am to 4pm weekdays, 11am to 3pm Saturdaysand 11am to 1pm Sundays.

RED CROSS: 100 YEARS (UNTIL MAY 31, 2015):Part of the world鈥檚 largest humanitarian movement,Red Cross has been woven into the fabric of Australian life for 100 years, responding to naturaldisasters, providing a blood service and everyday work to help vulnerable people. Hundreds ofthousands of volunteers signed up during World War I, and by World War II Red Cross had becomeAustralia鈥檚 largest charitable organisation. CROSSING PLACE: A STORY OF ALBURY (ONGOING):This compelling multimedia exhibition is onpermanent display in the main galleries of the Albury Library Museum. Crossing Place uses objects,audio and film to tell the story of Albury from first contact with the Wiradjuri people, traditionalowners of the land, to the city we share today. ARMY MUSEUM BANDIANA

EXTENSIVE MILITARY DISPLAY (MONDAYS TO SATURDAYS 鈥?BY APPOINTMENT):The Army MuseumBandiana houses 190 army vehicles, dozens of field guns, weapons, uniforms, medals and items datingback to the 18th century are displayed in the museum at the Gaza Ridge Barracks, Anderson Road,Bandiana, near Wodonga. 8TH/13TH VICTORIAN MOUNTED RIFLES MUSEUM, NORTH BANDIANA

LIGHT HORSE AND ARMOURED EXHIBITIONS (PHONE FOR OPENING TIMES):The 8th/13th VictorianMounted Rifles Museum鈥檚 aim is the preservation, interpretation and display of artefacts anddocuments related to light horse and armoured units that make up the lineage of the 8/13 VMR. BONEGILLA MIGRANT EXPERIENCE, BONEGILLA

MULTICULTURAL HISTORY (OPEN DAILY):With National Heritage listing, Block 19 Bonegilla hasbecome part of the narrative of nation. Twelve kilometres from Wodonga on Lake Hume, Block 19 wasone of 24 similar blocks built in the Bonegilla complex as an army camp during World War II. It becamethe Bonegilla Migrant Reception and Training centre in 1947, and housed migrants until 1971. CHILTERN ATHENAEUM MUSEUM

CHILTERN HISTORY (OPEN MOST DAYS):Highlights include memorabilia relating to Country Partyleader Sir John (Black Jack) McEwen, whose father operated the local pharmacy from 1891 to 1907, aWorld War I photographic collection, artworks by Alfred Eustace including several gumleaf paintingsand photographic and outdoor displays of Chiltern鈥檚 mining and agricultural past and an exhibitionrelating to the famous author Henry Handel Richardson, who lived in Chiltern.
