At 32 years of age, Wade Clifford pondered for a moment whether he might be too old for the rodeo game.

But if recent results are anything to go by, the Gunnedah cowboy will be around for a while yet.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Wade had won seven rounds at the Sydney Royal Rodeo Series Teams Challenge and placed third in two more.

“I guess you could say I’m at the peak of my career,” Clifford said as he prepared for the Wednesday evening rodeo program.

2015 Sydney Royal Rodeo Series – Wednesday evening sessionRun over consecutive nights during the show, the rodeo series pits competitors in themed, team competitions including All Stars, State of Origin and Australia and New Zealand.

It’s a good earner too with Clifford already scooping about $2500 in prizemoney from the earlier trans-Tasman competition.

The bareback rider had drawn a horse by the name of Sheena Brave for last night’s event.

He was feeling fairly confident after nailing an 80 point winning ride on the same horse two days earlier.

After Sydney Wade had only one plan in mind and that was to head straight back home.
