Oberon receives first dusting of snow

WINTER COMES EARLY: Oberon experienced its first dusting of snow on Tuesday. IT’S only autumn but Oberon has experienced some winter temperatures in the last few days.

Monday’s minimum was only 5.5 degrees with a minimum of 14.6, Tuesday’s minimum was 4, with a maximum of 14.6 and yesterday morning the minimum overnight temperature dropped to only 1 degree.

On Tuesday Oberon and district received it’s first dusting of snow.

With the cooler weather Oberon has received much-needed rain – a total of 42.6 millilitres for the first eight days of April.

Oberon’s average rainfall for April is 57.3 millilitres. In March, Oberon only received a total of 24.6 millilitres of rain – well below Oberon’s mean average for March of 66.1 millilitres.

Oberon Dam continues to fall to a level of 57.95 per cent. The forecast for the Central Tablelands is for cooler temperatures with a 30 per cent chance of rain tomorrow.
